Hi! My name is Christa Lei. I'm a twenty-something body and sex positive feminist Filipina from Hawaii. I currently live in San Francisco, via the Midwest (Chicago & Omaha) and I'm in the middle of a huge career change. After graduating summa cum laude with my degree in Psychology (concentration on Community Psychology) and a minor in English (Creative Writing,) from DePaul University, I decided to take the leap and enroll as a post-baccalaureate pre-medical student at Mills College in Oakland. I'm currently in the process of applying to medical school to become a culturally competent integrative primary care physician focusing on the intersection between mental and physical health, but also devoted to healthcare access, amongst other crucial topics in healthcare.

In the meantime, I am finishing up a couple classes while working as a clinical research coordinator at UCSF, and also as a graduate teaching assistant in Organic Chemistry and Immunology. When I'm not working, studying or learning-- I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend, travelling the world, reading, playing the guitar and ukulele, singing and writing songs, finding the best places to eat and drink, and watching some of the best comedies on television (You're the Worst, anybody?) I also love to craft personal essays based off my collective experiences, which you can read on my blog.
